Apple iPhone 4 – Tempting with iOS 4 and “Retina Display”
Apple is a step ahead in providing its customers with what they never thought they wanted. If you considered iPhone OS 4(now officially iOS 4) a ground-breaking software for iPad, the Apple iPhone 4 has made some real cool advances in hardware, processor speed and display. You can experience a new world opened to you through this gadget, but don’t forget it is after all a phone which can still give you signal nightmares although Apple has ensured that iPhone 4 has it least.
Thinnest on Earth!
This is what Jobs said. This phone is impressively 9.3mm thin sporting the same 3.5 inch touchscreen with faster CPU, increased battery life and two new cameras. You can carry it just anywhere you like.
This scratch resistant model is covered on both sides with aluminosilicate glass and a stainless steel border gives it some glitter and doubles up to act as antenna that circles the phone.
The more envious feature (for other phones) is that of a 960×640 display on the same sized screen with 326ppi resolution. It is LED backlit “Retina Display” which delivers warm images, crisp text and stunning videos all because of the denser resolution that a human eye can’t perceive.
Processor and Battery Life
Apple iPhone 4 is fitted with iPad’s A4 processor that runs faster than what was being used earlier.
Its battery life comes as a welcome surprise with seven hours of 3G talk, 10 hours of Wi-fi data, 40 hours of audio playback, 10 hours of video runtime, and to top it all 300 hours of stand-by time.
Apple’s new phone uses iOS 4 that has been tweaked a little, like now you can lock the orientation of the phone to portrait and on double-clicking the home button you can quickly switch between apps.
Apple has added a VGA camera in the front and another 5 mp at the back of this smart-phone. It enables you to record 720p HD video at a constant 30 fps and the iOS 4 allows you tap-to-focus while shooting. There is LED flash and “backside illuminated” image sensor which captures more light in turn delivering high-quality images.
Apple has added a three-axis gyroscope to complement the existing accelerometer and compass. It provides a six-axis motion sensing feature that can be utilized by the app developers.
Video-Calling through FaceTime
You can use the software in-built FaceTime feature for video-calling exclusively introduced to iPhone 4 on Wi-fi only, for the time being. Both the cameras can be used for video-calling, and FaceTime can be used in both landscape and portrait mode.
Apple iPhone 4 has undoubtedly distanced itself by hoisting itself up high on a different level compared to its latest contemporaries. The amazing display, superfast processor, snappy fast camera, iOS 4, and that smooth finish definitely gives this device leverage. Come June 24th and you will be able to hold and marvel Apple’s new baby.
